In collaboration with Community Church of New York (CCNYC), MORE Opera offers Classical Vocal Arts for Children (CVAC), an ongoing vocal arts and cultural enrichment program for children and youth ages 6-14, their parents and the public. CVAC is designed to introduce classical vocal music and opera through semi-monthly music appreciation and vocal workshops, chorus development, and performance preparation, culminating with public concerts and master classes at CCNYC in Murray Hill. Children will learn to sing as a chorus,be introduced to the rudiments of vocal technique, ear training and language arts, vocal expression and will perform in concerts and a masterclass geared towards the entire family. Enrollment in CVAC is free and open to all children. Children may partake in any or all workshops and/or the spring and fall public performances, and the children and their families are invited to participate interactively in a Spring Family Masterclass, where all who attend join in a sing-along of classic favorites. The winter concert theme is “I Have a Dream,” repertoire for the spring performance consists of songs of patriotism and Americana, and the fall public concert will include traditional children’s opera choruses.  All concerts are open to the public and admission is free of charge.
